Former President Jerry John Rawlings is expected to champion reconciliatory meetings at the constituency, regional and national levels of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),

Mr Kofi Kofi Adams who dropped the hint on Monday during an interview with Kumasi-based Abusua Fm, observed that the party’s founder is critical in its restructuring exercise and will play a vital role in the healing process as well.

The Kwesi Botchwey led Committee among other recommendations, said there is the need for reconciliation the party as some persons who hitherto were instrumental in the party’s successes were ignored in the build up to the 2016 elections.

He said the NDC promises to address concerns of Rawlings who will be leading other National Executive members of the party to regions and constituencies to settle differences among members.

According to him, the party is feverishly working behind the scenes to address the concerns of its founder who is noted for the incessant public attacks.

“We are in our healing process to address our challenges and concerns of which some include issues raised by the founder himself “, the NDC 2016 campaign coordinator disclosed.

The former President last week, observed that the NDC’s quest to return to power in 2020 is far from reach if current happenings persist.

Mr Rawlings who was speaking with officials from EIB Network at his residence, said the NDC should forget about power because it will not happen

According to him, the current administration’s rollout of election campaign promises including the Free Senior High School, One District One Factory, and the fight against galamsey all make it tough for the NDC to sell their campaign to the masses.

“These people think they can unseat this man [Akufo-Addo] in 2020,” he asked. “NPP? After only four years? No!” He said.

The NDC is currently going through some soul searching with creeping divisions about the real intentions of former President Mahama and whether or not he will stand for an election.
