Controversial self-acclaimed Tanzanian Prophet, Nabii Tito who owns a church dubbed “Drunkards Church” is currently behind bars as he has been arrested for blackmailing his followers using the Bible.
The prophet who usually preaches after taking so much alcohol, has no specific location for his church, as he moves around in bars and streets preaching the word to fellow drunkards at a fee.
According to the Dodoma Police, Tito has been sharing videos on social media encouraging his members to drink alcohol and sleep with their house helps.
Some photos of Tito kissing two women made rounds on social media and annoyed quite a number of Tanzanians who called him out for his illicit behaviors and prompted action from the police.
Dodoma Regional Commissioner Gilles Muroto said that the ‘prophet’ was once examined by a psychiatrist and found to be insane. After being diagnosed by the doctor, he was given another appointment which he did not keep,” he said.
The authorities added that although the prophet was insane, his actions proved that he was totally aware of the problems his preaching had caused.
