The Chairman of Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Rex Owusu Marfo aka Rex Omar said he has never been hit by the death of other musicians like the sudden demise of the talented dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns.

In a phone call interview with Kojo Preko Dankwa on K-Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM, last Saturday, the staunch follower of the ‘Maame Hwe’ crooner expressed his shock since news broke that Ebony is no more.

“Ever since I started music, there haven’t been any musician whose death has affected me so much than that of Ebony’s. I never met Ebony one-on-one but I followed his career because of how many people chastised her…It’s so painful. I think this is an unfortunate situation for her at this time when she has reached peak of her music career and doing so well.” Rex Omar told Kojo Preko Dankwa.

In what others have completely criticized concerning Ebony’s outfit for events, the veteran highlife musician, however endorsed female dancehall/Afrobeats artist, Ebony Reigns’ brand of revealing parts of her body in most of her performances at events and in her music videos.

His reason was that the fact that the RuffTown Records/Midas Touch Inc Award-winning singer uncover part of her skin doesn’t make her a bad person.

Omar stated that it rather indicates how quick-witted the artist and his management are and as an artiste, she should be eccentric to get people thinking about the brand and that is where Ebony’s genius becomes relevant.

Ebony, born Priscilla Opuku Kwarteng died on-the-spot with two others in a fatal accident which occurred on Thursday, 8th February at Mankranso on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway.

She had been to Sunyani to visit her mother who had come from abroad when the unfortunate incident happened.

Ebony was a Ghanaian dancehall/afropop songstress and died at aged 20.
