Dele Alli is “replaceable” at Tottenham and could be sold this summer, says Jermaine Jenas, but Harry Kane is likely to stick around for another “season or two”.

Having worked hard to assemble a competitive squad, with fresh terms thrashed out with key men at regular intervals, Spurs are facing a fight to keep their side together.

Interest is being shown in prized assets, with an inability to turn potential into silverware sparking talk of ambitions being fulfilled elsewhere.

England star Alli is among those to have been linked with a big-money move, and Jenas believes the 21-year-old could be among those offloaded in order to free up funds.

The former Spurs midfielder told GQ: “If I was going to guess, I would say Dele Alli might go.

“I don’t think that is something that Spurs fans will want to hear, because he is a very popular player.

“But if the new stadium does exert some financial pressures on the club, Dele is the kind of player that Spurs could replace.

“Dele is without doubt a brilliant player and I am sure he will go on and play for another top team, but in the area he plays in he is replaceable.”

Another of those who could move on is Toby Alderweireld, with the Belgian centre-half yet to commit to a new contract in north London.

Jenas added: “He is an absolutely incredible player and I would say he is someone that Spurs should do anything and everything they can to keep hold of him.

“But he seems like he wants to move on and there will certainly be no shortage of suitors for him.”

While Alli and Alderweireld may be heading elsewhere in the summer, Jenas remains confident that the services of talismanic striker Kane can be retained.

He said of the prolific 24-year-old: “Although he is being widely acknowledged as the best out-and-out striker in the world right now, and rumours of a move to Spain keep surfacing, I think he will stay at least for a season or two because of the new Spurs stadium.

“I think Daniel Levy will have to break the bank to keep him at the club, but I think Harry will be the one player they do that for, simply because he is worth it.”

Real Madrid have been linked with Kane, Alderweireld and Alli as they prepare for a summer overhaul of their squad.

Fending off interest will be tricky for Spurs, with it yet to be determined what impact developments at the club off the field will have on it.
