Officials of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) will by the close of today January 30, 2019 visit the homes of Zylofon Media signed artistes including Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale to recover some properties of Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM 1, MyNewsGh.com has gathered.

Our sources say officials of EOCO in the company of armed policemen will be hunting for the homes of Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Joyce Blessing, Kumi Guitar and actors like James Gardiner, Two Sweet Annan and others who have in their possession properties given to them by Nana Appiah Mensah’s Zylofon Media taken away from them.

It is gathered that some buildings and cars are still in the name of the parent organization Zylofon Media and could have only be transferred into the name of the artistes upon completion of their individual contracts.

The move to start seizing assets of the embattled gold dealership firm and sister companies is part of efforts in recouping locked up cash of customers who have been on the heels of government to intervene.

EOCO on Tuesday secured a court order to freeze landed properties and companies belonging to Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1 currently in detention at the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Menzgold Ghana Limited which is a Gold dealership company and the mother of other companies inclusive Zylofon Music is currently distress crawling due to series of challenges.

Zylofon TV and Radio following the directive have halted operations and workers sent home according to a statement from Communications Manager of Zylofon FM and Zylofon TV, Samuel Atuobi Baah.

“Owing to the order by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) dated 29th January and signed by Jacqueline Avotri (Public Affairs), to have all assets of Nana Appiah Mensah frozen, the general public is hereby informed that Zylofon FM and TV will suspend operations effective 30th January, 2019,” the statement reads.

“Being a law abiding entity, we expect that due process be facilitated to restore sanity.”

Some weeks ago, EOCO froze the accounts of Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1 who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold and is seeking public support to locate other accounts either locally or internationally to freeze them pending the outcome of investigations into allegations he has defrauded some persons by false pretenses.

The Executive Director of EOCO, Mr. K.K Amoah who suspects NAM 1 could be operating with different account names is urging the public to volunteer such information to his outfit in order to track such transactions as part of ongoing investigations.

“What we are telling the public is that anyone with information on his other accounts should let us know because we believe he might have used different names to open such accounts and so friends, family should let us know about other accounts,” he urged on Accra-based Adom Fm.
