Ghana’s presidency has denied reports suggesting that the country’s president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has made about six ambassadorial appointments.

A list surfaced Friday morning claiming the President has appointed at least six persons, some of who are known members of the New Patriotic Party, to head Ghana’s High Commissions in Germany, China, France, Canada, UK and Nigeria.

Former Attorney General, Ayikoi Otoo was said to have been appointed ambassador for Canada; veteran parliamentarian Papa Owusu-Ankomah for the UK; former Commissioner of CHRAJ, Anna Bossman for France; Managing Editor of Daily Guide, Gina Blay for Germany; former Sports Minister, Rashid Bawa for Nigeria and businessman Edward Boateng for China.

But checks at the presidency by TV3’s presidential correspondent, Nana Aduah, revealed no such appointments have been made by President Akufo-Addo who has come under strong criticism for appointing 110 persons as ministers and deputies.

Our correspondent reported that Director of Communications at the Flagstaff House in Accra has asked the public to “ignore the above list” that has since gone viral, especially on various social media platforms.
