The football world, especially Africa and particularly Uganda, has been thrown into a state of agony as Kyambogo FC shot stopper Ronald Kiggundu met his untimely death Saturday morning.

The 27-year old was reported to be going to training ahead of the clash with Maroon FC on Sunday.

Prior to the club’s final training session on Saturday morning at Kyambogo west end playground, Kiggundu met his death.

As he traveled for the session ahead of the club’s trip to play the group leaders Maroons, he was knocked dead by a commercial speeding motor cyclist, popularly referred to as ‘Boda Boda’ in Uganda or Okada in Ghana and Nigeria.

The death of the young goalkeeper was confirmed by the Kyambogo F.C Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Charles Ssemanda on Saturday.

“We are saddened by the death of our goalkeeper Ronald Kiggundu who breathed his last at Kadic Hospital following an accident by a boda boda,” he told Kawowo.com in Uganda.

Kyambogo FC is a second tier side in Uganda.
