Football legend, Abedi Ayew Pele and his Division One club, Nania FC have sent a compassionate and solidarity message to victims of the Kotoko bus accident at Nkawkaw last Wednesday.

Kotoko players and their officials were returning from Accra to Kumasi after a league match against Inter Allies, when their bus ran into a stationary vehicle on the Nkawkaw stretch of the Accra-Kumasi Highway, killing the team’s Equipment Officer and injuring 18 players and officials.

Messages of love and encouragement have poured in across the Ghanaian populace. The latest to express sympathy to the Porcupines is former Black Stars captain, Abedi Ayew and his club Nania FC who dispatched a letter to Kotoko secretariat on Monday.

“We have learnt with deep sorrow the tragic accident involving Kumasi Asante Kotoko on their way back to Kumasi following their 23rd Premier League match against Inter Allies” said the letter signed by Abedi Ayew Pele.

“In this moment of grief, the Board and Management of Nania FC, wish to express our sincere compassion and solidarity with all those affected by this unfortunate occurrence, especially the family of the late Thomas Obeng Asare”.

“We also wish those injured speedy recovery. May the almighty Allah strengthen us to overcome this tragedy” it added.
