AFC Leopards coach Stewart Hall has heaped praise on Ghanaian import Gilbert Fiamenyo after Sunday’s 3-0 demolition of Nakumatt in a Kenyan Premier League opener played at Thika Sub County stadium.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak striker opened his KPL account just before the break to put Leopards on course of a huge win.
Marsellus Ingotsi and Paul Kiongera later found the back of the net as Ingwe condemned the KPL newbie to a second consecutive league defeat. Speaking after the match, Hall was full of praise for Fiamenyo and his attack partner Paul Kiongera terming the duo a perfect combination.
“He’s very clever on the ball, he’s great target man very good on the ball but we are a team of energy, we press the ball all the time but he doesn’t do that and off the ball, it’s like we are ten men. That’s why I stick to Kiongera because he does Fiamenyo’s work all the time, I think they are a good combination”, Hall said in his post match interview.
Fiamenyo joined Leopards in August 2016 but wasn’t cleared to play in 2016 as the mid-season transfer window was shut.
He re-linked up with the team in January and was in fine form during pre-season friendly matches.
