New Bursaspor acquisition Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is eyeing a good first season with the club following his presentation to the press on Thursday.

The midfielder completed a season-long loan move to the Turkish outfit on Wednesday after spending seven seasons with Italian Serie A side Udinese.

Prior to the move, the 26-year-old was strongly linked to a host of English clubs, with Stoke City, Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City among his reported destination.

“I want to thank the president of Udinese,” Badu told pressmen.

“I was there for seven years and it was hard for me to leave.

“I also thank the owner for believing in me. I promise to try and do my best and.”

Badu is the latest Ghanaian to move to Turkey, following the likes of captain Asamoah Gyan and Elvis Manu.

“I have played with the Ghana national team for seven to eight years,” the Black Star added.

“I played with Turkey. We had a 2-2 draw. I spoke with [Jerry] Akaminko and [Ogenyi] Onazi here.

“I know Bursaspor captain [Pablo] Batalla and [William Troost] Ekong, I had a chance to meet them.

“I hope it will be a very good season for us.”

Bursaspor chairman Ali Ay added: “We have been talking with Badu for three weeks; it’s been a great struggle.

“This is our fourth transfer. Everyone is doing these things to watch a good Bursaspor this year.

“Thank goodness, all the transfers we made are spot on.”

Badu was also once on the books of Spanish outfit Recreativo Huelva and local sides Asante Kotoko and Berekum Arsenal
