Ghana U17 captain Eric Ayiah has called on the government to settle all outstanding qualification bonuses before the team departs for the FIFA U17 World Cup in India.
The Black Starlets team are still owed qualification bonuses after making it to the Africa U17 Championship in Gabon early this year.
The Sports Ministry paid the team’s bonuses for their participation at the Africa juvenile competition but are yet to settle outstanding arrears.
“I will like to plead with the authorities, they did well to pay our bonuses after we returned from the Cup of Nations,” he told Kasapa FM.
“But we have not received our qualification bonuses, we know they are trying their best but we want to plead with them to settle our bonuses before we leave.
“We will be very happy if they are able to settle our qualification bonuses before we leave for the World Cup.”
Meanwhile head Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin is still owed salaries since taking over the team.
The Black Starlets team will depart for a four-nation tournament in Spain later this month before leaving for the World Cup.
