The vice president of the Ghana football Association, George Afriyie, wants his outfit to be applauded for the Starlets sterling performance at the ongoing Africa Under -17 Cup of Nations in Gabon.
According to the football administrator, the Starlets exhibition of a 100%performance by going unbeaten in three games, scoring nine goals without conceding and being the first country to seal a World Cup qualification, the acknowledgement should be channeled to the Ghana FA.
“I think that having kept faith Paa Kwesi Fabian it means that we(GFA) saw something good in his technical abilities and we believed in continuity in other to develop the team. Secondly the FA decided to keep these youngsters over one year which comes with a huge cost”, he told Starr Sports.
Come Wednesday, the Black Starlets will face the Young Menas of Niger in the semi-final of the CAF U17 Nations at the Port Gentil Stadium.
The Nigerians finished runners in Group A after beating Tanzania 1-0 to qualify on goal difference and that earned them a place at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
