Emotional moments at Toronto Airport as family of Ghanaian man randomly shot arrive for his funeral

Some members of the family of Adu Boakye, a 39-year-old Ghanaian who was shot and killed in Toronto have been spotted at the Toronto Airport, wailing and crying. According to a post made on the X account of EDHUB, the family, including the wife of the late Adu Boakye and his four young children, were flown to Toronto, Canada, where the incident happened. The video captures the emotional scene as family members adorned in black mourning clothes, bearing pictures of the deceased, mourning and crying over their loss.“The family, including the wife and four children of 39-year-old Adu Boakye, the Ghanaian man who was shot dead at a Toronto bus stop three months after moving there, have been flown to Toronto, Canada for his funeral rites,” parts of the post read.

Adu Boakye was gunned down three times – twice in the stomach in an indiscriminate attack, according to the police, on February 17, on the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area in Toronto. The deceased, Adu Boakye, reportedly relocated to Canada 3months prior but met his untimely death in the attack.

Adu Boakye succumbed to his gunshot wounds at the hospital. Described by friends as a quiet and respectful man who was thebreadwinner of his family back in Ghana, Adu Boakye was one of two victims in the shooting incident. The other victim, a 16-year-old who was waiting for the bus to attend a volleyball game, was critically injured but survived, according to reports. According to his friends, Adu Boakye often video called his wife during work breaks and was focused on sending moneyback home. Meanwhile, police have established that the attack was carried out randomly by the suspect. The victims didn’t know each other or the suspect, nor were they involved in any gang activity or anything similar.
