Ghana U17 captain Eric Ayiah failed to make the final three-man shortlist for the 2017 CAF Youth Player of the Year award.
The lethal forward was omitted alongside South African winger Luther Singh despite his starring role at the U17 African Championship earlier this year.
CAF president Dr Ahmad Ahmad supervised the ceremony in Accra on Monday, with Senegal’s Krepin Diatta, Zambia’s Patson Daka and Mali attacking midfielder Salam Giddou completing the final list.
The winner will be announced at the CAF Awards Gala on January 4 in Accra, Ghana.
