Former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor will be special guests at a special non-denominational thanksgiving service to be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the Methodist Central Hall, Storey’s Gate, Westminster, London SW1H 9NH, at 1430 hours.
The service which forms part of activities to mark Ghana’s 60th Independence, is being orgainised by the Ghana Christian Council UK (GCCUK), in collaboration with the Ghana Union London and the Ghana High Commission UK.
It will also be attended by representatives from Ghana High Commission and other senior personalities within the Ghanaian and UK community in London, along with members of the diplomatic corps.
A statement issued by the Chairman of the GCCUK, Dr. Shadrach Ofosuware, said the service will be led by clergy from the various Ghanaian-led churches in Ghana.
“We will be offering a prayer of thanksgiving to God for His blessings over our nation Ghana and pray into the theme of this year’s anniversary: ‘Mobilising for Ghana’s future’.” He said.
The Ghana Christian Council, UK, is a UK registered body endorsed by the Ghana High Commission, UK with the aim of working to mobilise and unite Ghanaian led Christian denominations to seek and serve God and country.
The Council currently has membership from the Presbyterian, Methodist, Anglican, United Reformed, Catholic, EP Church, and the Pentecostal Churches, among others.
Dr. Shadrach Ofosuware urged all Ghanaians and friends of Ghana from all faith backgrounds to attend.
