Former President of Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie has described the late Kojo Asare Baffour Acheampong as an icon in the media, saying she is deeply saddened by his death at an early age.
She made the remarks when she visited Joy FM offices to sign the book of condolence and to mourn with the workers and management of Multimedia of the demise of the host of Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM, fondly known as KABA.
Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, who is also a former member of the Council of State praised KABA for his unique style of getting information from his panellists, and urged other journalists to emulate his professionalism and unbiased approach to issues.
Meanwhile, suspended PNC General Secretary Mohammed Atik also said Ghana has lost a great person.
‘’Young as KABA was he was a statesman who was known for his good works,’’ he said.
He recalled days with KABA, on his political talk show, where he will ask tough and daring questions and demand precise answers.
Mohammed Atik added that KABA’s contribution to accountable governance will be deeply missed.
He also urged the youth to be inspired by KABA’s memory to continue the fight to make Ghana a better place for all.
