Rap ‘god’, Sarkodie, indisputably remains the most consistent artist in Ghana, and he sits on top with regards to laurels when it comes to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) – www.entertainmentgh.com can state!

With over 50 nominations and 18 wins, Sarkodie, is the most decorated artist of the VGMA, and together with the group, VIP, he holds the record as the artist to win the ultimate ‘Artist of the Year’ twice – 2010 and 2012.

It is interesting to note, that the last time Sarkodie picked the ‘Overall Artist of the Year’ prize was in 2012 – and for an artist that has stayed consistent since then, releasing hit singles and performing at sold out concerts, that is not right.

The ‘RNS’ hitmaker, for the 4th consecutive time, gets nomination in the ‘Artist of the Year’ category – and has nods in six (6) other categories.

He faces competition from E.L. Stonebwoy, MzVee, Medikal and Joe Mettle.

If he wins, Sarkodie would set another record, the first artist to win the ‘Artist of the Year’ prize for the 3rd time.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is scheduled for the Accra International Conference Center on April 8, 2017.
