2017 FA Cup winners, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in next year’s CAF Confederations Cup competition.

The Porcuipine Warriors secured the only available slot for Ghana after beating rivals Hearts of Oak by 3-1to win the title at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday

Thomas Abbey’s second half goal was not enough to cancel out a Saddick Adams hat-trick in the first half as Kotoko grabbed an important victory over their nemesis.

Kotoko will now join League Champions Aduana Stars as Ghana’s two representatives in Africa next year as Aduana plays in the CAF Champions league.

The Reds will be making a return to Africa since 2014 when they participated in the CAF Champions League.

Meanwhile, Kotoko’s striker Saddick Adams first half hat-trick against Hearts of Oak in the grand final saw him becoming the first player to score a thrice against their rivals since 1983.
