Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah, is expected to round off his US scouting exercise on Sunday after monitoring a few more Ghanaian players in action for their clubs this weekend.
So far, Coach Appiah appears satifisfied with the talents he has spotted during his two-week tour of the US as he plans to travel to Columbus tomorrow, before crowning it all in New York on Sunday.
the Stars coach revealed that he had the opportunity to watch the pre-season friendly between Swansea City and Philadelphia Union which ended 2-2 last Saturday, with both Jordan Ayew and his his Ghanaian counterpart, C.J. Sapong scoring for their respective clubs.
Apart from Sapong, Philadelphia Union also features another youngster, Joshua Yaro, who was a former skipper of Right to Dream Academy.
According to the coach, he has so far visited one player in Kansas City, four players at DC United, three players in Philadelphia Union, and one player at New York Red Bulls.
“I’m in New Jersey now and will leave for Columbus tomorrow and return to New York on Sunday.
“I will travel to Columbus to visit four players and their facilities,” he added.
Currently, the Ghanaian quartet plying their trade in Columbus Crew are Harrison Afful, Jonathan Mensah, Mohammed Abu and Lalas Abubakar.
Last week, Coach Appiah was in Kansas City to watch former Liberty Professionals skipper, Latif Blessing from close range.
The players he has watched include, former Asante Kotoko defender, Gideon Baah (New York Red Bulls) as well as Patrick Nyarko, Lloyd Sam, Kofi Opare and Chris Odoi-Atsem who all play for DC United .
Coach Appiah, who stayed on in the US to scout for new talents after the Stars’ two recent international friendlies against Mexico and USA, is expected back home on July 27.
