The Ghanaian watched the game between the New York Jets and the Carolina Panthers at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey with former Blues teammate Ashley Cole.
The former Chelsea midfielder was thrilled by the energy and skill exhibited in the game, which saw the Panthers winning 35-27 extending their record to 8 wins and three losses for the season.
Michael Essien returned to England in midweek to watch his former side Chelsea as they prepared for the game against Liverpool on Saturday. He met striker Mitchy Batshuayi and his colleagues.
