Father of young actor Rahim Banda, Ahmed Banda popularly known as Bandex has refuted claims that his son has quit acting. According to the film producer, his son is off screen temporarily due to schooling. He revealed this Pamela Boateng of Spyderlee Entertainment TV Friday afternoon.
‘It’s normal…you can’t be seeing him every day or all the time. It’s because of schooling; he’s in SHS now, and at that level, students are usually camped and I wouldn’t want my child to be moving in and out of school because of acting.
I think the best thing I can offer my son is quality education and at the appropriate time you’ll see him again. We have some new movies we will be releasing very soon and he’s also been featured in about two or three series yet to be released. So as I said, it’s just a matter of time…as at now, when he vacates, it’s all about studying,’ he said.
When asked how his son (Rahim Banda) manages his fame, Bandex responded, ‘normally, we don’t put the fame in his head even when we are in the house. We treat him normal; we make him understand he’s a normal human being like any other person. He understood this principle before entering Senior High School.
It’s about how you bring them up. If you make them feel they are special, they will take it everywhere…if you make them feel they are not extra-ordinary than others, they will be mindful of how they behave.’
Rahim Banda is currently a first year student at the Ghana National College in Cape Coast. He is one of the few child actors in the Ghanaian movie industry. He has starred in numerous movies including Masters of the game, Millions, Burning Desire and many more.
