Former Bayern Munich star Samuel Osei Kuffour says the decision to change the timing of the Africa Cup of Nations is long overdue and will help football on the continent.
The Confederation of African football made a decision on Thursday to amend the timing of the Africa Cup of Nations.
There have been complaints about the timing of the Nations Cup tournament which has been a problem for some European Clubs to release their players for the competition.
“I think it is good, it is going to help teams to prepare well for the competition,” he told TV3.
“Is going to help organizers and host countries to improve in Infrastructure.
“Most a times countries do not prepare well because the time is too short, two years. But with this new amendment, it will help the teams to prepare very well and we will see a good competition.”
