The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah has revealed that the state of the presidential lodge at Kumasi is in a stinky state that he will find it extremely difficult to host President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo—Addo should he decide to visit Kumasi.

“It is a shame that the place has been left in such a deplorable state. If the President comes to Kumasi I will not be able to host him. I am so ashamed. Come and let me take to Yaa Asantewaa where we host our guests, I will take you to the kitchen …..to see if food is prepared there whether you will be able to eat or not. It is worse than the kitchen of prisoners. I am ashamed.” he revealed on Accra-based Okay FM.

According to him, his official residence was left like a piggery by my successor, Mr John Alexander Ackun wondering how he could have left the place in such a deplorable state.

He further revealed that the deplorable state of his official residence has compelled him to shuttle between his private home to the Regional Coordinating Council adding that weak finances of his outfit has informed the decision to fuel his official vehicle from his own resources.

“I have been fueling my car since February and other things from my own pocket because I do not want activities to grind to a halt. It is a very sad situation because we are inundated with debts as a result of so many things that were done under the previous administration”, he revealed.
