Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has been banned by FIFA for one year after he was found guilty of cheating an agent in a transfer deal back in 2014.

The 28-year-old has been ordered to pay creditor Curtis Willet $65,000 or in default serve a one-year ban.

Inkoom failed to pay the agent his full share of the booty after he was transferred from Ukrainian side Dnipro three years ago.

Inkoom subsequently left for Bulgarian side FC Vereya without paying the agent who brokered the deal – leading to his decision to drag him to the world governing body.

The Bulgarian Football Union’s Disciplinary Commission sat on the player’s case when it first started in 2014 before it went to FIFA.

“In view of the notification dated 20.06.2017, pursuant to item 4 the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee of 15.12.2014, DS of BFU imposed to Samuel Inkoom- a former competitor of FC ‘Vereya’ Stara Zagora punishment suspension of competition rights for a period of one (one) year or until the date of payment of the entire amount owed to the creditor,” part of the ruling from FIFA read

The former Kotoko defender was dragged to the world governing body for being in debt to his landlord during his time with Major Soccer League side DC United.

The Ghana international, who is being tracked by Belgian outfit Gent, has been angling for a return to the Black Stars.

The former Ghana youth star has been capped 46 times by the West Africans.
