‘We were selfless in our era’ – Ex Black Stars player

Former Black Stars player, Kojo Addai Kyenkyenhene has stated that; things were different in his era with regards to players and how they handled their matches.

Addai Kyenkyenhehe, who is now a Reverend Minister with Harvesters Evangelistic Ministry, Bantama, Kumasi, believes that; the the senior national team is now focusing on money instead of its ultimate goals.

Speaking on “Harvest Hour”, a radio preaching programme aired on Metro FM, Rev Kyenkyenhene disclosed that, during his era, the players remained at putting Ghana first rather than focusing on making money.

“We were selfless and killed ourselves for the game. Our focus was not on money like it is now. Our determination was extremely high as we always sought to be on the top”, he told show host, Nana Yaw Prekoh.

The former Kotoko star however indicated it is worrying to see players now making money their goals rather than goals.

He said it was time Ghanaian footballers put their games first so as to raise high the Ghanaian flag on the international front.

Kojo Addai Kyenkyenhene played 14 years for Kotoko and 10 years for the national side, after which he retired to become a Reverend Minister.
