Cardi B to make US television history

The US talk show – hosted by Jimmy Fallon – has never had a co-host in its long 64 year history.

Until now.

So it’s fitting that the record-breaking rapper has been chosen as Jimmy’s first ever sidekick for the historic show on Monday 9 April.

Last year, Cardi became the first female rapper in nearly 20 years to score a #1 in the US charts, with her smash hit Bodak Yellow. The last being Lauryn Hill with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998.

She then became the first female hip hop artist to have their first three singles in top ten at the same time.

And now this.

If Monday’s show is half as good as her appearance as Jimmy’s guest in December then it’ll be a memorable one.

Cardi’s latest appearance is in support of her forthcoming debut studio album Invasion of Privacy, which drops on Friday.

Her new track, Drip, featuring her fiance Offset’s band Migos is available to view online now but we can’t bring it to you here I’m afraid due to the language.

For now you’ll have to make do with the rapper’s brilliant alcopop explanation as to how she got her name (above).
