GOC joins Australian High Commission to unveil 2018 Commonwealth Games painting

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) joined the Australian High Commission to unveil a painting for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

The painting also had a countdown timer that would be used till the event date next year.

The Australian High Commissioner, H. E Andrew Barnes assured the GOC of his office’s support for Ghana to have a good representation at the Games.

He commended the GOC on the early preparations for the Games and added that it would be his wish for Ghana to send more athletes and win laurels for the country.

GOC President, Ben Nunoo Mensah also applauded the High Commission for their continuous effort to create awareness for Ghana’s participation in the Commonwealth Games.

He said his outfit would also do their best to work hand-in-hand with the Commission.

He urged the Commission to nominate a person for the yet to be formed International Games Committee.

A ceremonial cake was cut to signify 285 days left for the Games.
