Kendrick Lamar bans taking photos at his shows

Kendrick Lamar wants you to pay attention to his performance while you’re at his shows, not your phones.

That’s why he’s the latest music star to ban phones at his concerts so they can live in the moment, according to the Guardian. The TDE rapper will also not be permitting professional photographers into performance spaces on his current tour.

Kendrick, who just pulled in four Grammy Awards over a week ago, joins Jack White, who also banned smartphone usage at live shows. K Dot began the European leg of his tour last week in Dublin.

The other reason Lamar is attempting to ban picture taking by fans is supposed to protect his brand by limiting photography and video recordings. Most artists make a majority of their money while on tour.

A few photographers were allowed to take photos during Kendrick’s time in North America.

What do you think? Is this ban a good thing or nah? Let us know in the comments section below.
