A 24-year-old woman, working as receptionist at Peace Garden’s Guest House at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region has been raped and shot to death.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday in the same Guest House.
An Eyewitness, Kwame Aboagye said, they heard the victim screaming for help in the Guest House and when they rushed to the scene, they found the lady lying naked in a pool of blood.
She was then rushed to the Kasoa Polyclinic for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.
“I heard her screaming that she has been shot and that people should come to her aid, I jumped inside and saw her lying naked in a pool of blood…,” Kwame Aboagye said.
According to Aboagye, the lady before being rushed to the hospital confirmed she was attacked by some people who absconded from the scene after the act.
“She told me, she was raped and after that shot, she was naked so I rushed inside and brought something to cover her, my brother lifted her up and we rushed her to hospital…later, the Doctors came out and confirmed that she is dead…,” he said.
Some residents of Kasoa Bethel Zongo where the Guest House is located blamed the act on some ‘wee smokers’ in the area.
“There is a wee base here, even young boys in this area always go there, there are about five of these bases, the Kasoa Police once a while come in to do a swoop and nothing is heard later, the security here is very bad,” a resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said.
The residents therefore called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to beef up the security in Kasoa.
